Paul Quinn Falls Short in Hard-Fought Battle Against Jarvis Christian, 63–55
Dallas, TX — November 1, 2025 Despite a strong effort on both ends of the floor, the Paul Quinn College men’s basketball team came up just short Saturday evening, falling 63–55 to Jarvis Christian University in non-conference action at the Tiger Den on Simpson Stuart Road.
The Tigers (0–3) showed flashes of cohesion and intensity, particularly in the paint and from the free throw line, but turnovers and cold shooting from beyond the arc proved costly down the stretch.
First Half: A Defensive Tug-of-War
Paul Quinn and Jarvis Christian traded baskets throughout the opening period, with neither team able to establish a clear advantage. The Bulldogs went into halftime holding a slim 27–25 lead, capitalizing on turnovers and second-chance opportunities. Paul Quinn held their own in the interior with 14 first-half points in the paint but struggled from long range, hitting just 18% of their three-point attempts before the break.
Second Half: Bulldogs Pull Away Late
In the second half, Jarvis Christian found rhythm offensively, shooting over 41% from the field. Guard Erin Wright led the visitors with a team-high 17 points, connecting on 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-for-4 from the line. Mark Wise added 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Aboubacar Cisse chipped in 10 points and 5 boards.
Paul Quinn kept pace behind Isaiah McCallum, who turned in an efficient 15-point performance on 3-of-6 shooting, going 8-for-10 from the line. John Harrison added 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, while Rhasod Ballard and Jordan Hicks combined for 13 points.
However, turnovers and perimeter struggles haunted the Tigers — Paul Quinn finished 4-for-24 (16.7%) from deep and committed 23 turnovers, which Jarvis Christian converted into 26 points.
