Texas Wesleyan Pulls Away in Second Half, Tops Paul Quinn 4–0
Fort Worth, Texas – September 5, 2025 The Paul Quinn College men’s soccer team battled early but couldn’t withstand Texas Wesleyan’s relentless attack, falling 4–0 on Friday evening at Cramer Field.
First-Half Battle
Both teams started cautiously, with Paul Quinn generating two shots in the opening period. Goalkeeper Andrew Martinez kept the Tigers within striking distance with three saves, but Texas Wesleyan broke through in the 35th minute when Fabricio Martinez scored off an assist from Peter Tenorio.
Despite the 1–0 deficit at halftime, Paul Quinn had shown flashes of offensive creativity, led by Juan Mendoza, who put both of his shots on frame.
Second-Half Surge by the Rams
Texas Wesleyan seized control after the break. In the 66th minute, Diogo Stefane doubled the lead with an unassisted goal. Moments later, Paul Quinn's frustration showed with a yellow card issued to goalkeeper Morgan Kendall.
The Rams closed strong behind Joel Kisukulu, who scored twice in the final 10 minutes — the first unassisted in the 80th, and another just five minutes later off a feed from Marco Montez to seal the 4–0 victory.
Defensive Effort and Goalkeeping
Paul Quinn's goalkeepers combined for eight saves across the match. Martinez collected three in the first half before giving way, while Kendall added one in the second. Texas Wesleyan kept the pressure high, firing 17 shots with 12 on target.
On the opposite end, the Rams' keepers split time and combined for a shutout. Starter Axel Tonietto made two saves in the first half, while Jesus Diaz added four more in the second, keeping Paul Quinn scoreless despite six shots on goal.
