Paul Quinn Volleyball Drops Three-Set Match to Central Methodist
Marshall, Missouri – August 29, 2025 The Paul Quinn College volleyball team played its second match of the day on Friday but couldn’t overcome a sharp Central Methodist squad, falling in straight sets (13–25, 14–25, 9–25).
Central Methodist Starts Strong
The visiting Eagles opened the match with a dominant offensive showing, hitting an efficient .464 in the first set while limiting the Tigers to just five kills. Gimena Dezeo led the charge with 14 kills on .379 hitting for Central Methodist, while Joana Milho chipped in 10 kills at a .438 clip.
Paul Quinn battled early with contributions from Carrie Weston and Makaila Piggee, but errors prevented the Tigers from finding consistent rhythm.
Second-Set Struggles
The Tigers tried to settle in during the second frame, recording six kills, but 10 attack errors erased their momentum. Central Methodist capitalized on every opportunity, pulling away late for a 25–14 win. Luciana Araujo and Mariah Bostic-Jones kept the Eagles' offense flowing, combining for 23 assists and three service aces in the set.
